What Causes Rapid Heart Rate?
Last night, I woke up and I got thirsty but I had water right next to me since I m always thirsty so I drank some of it but then my heart started beating so fast for no reason. This has never happened before so I wanted to know if this is normal and I m just over reacting.

Please, do not worry. If you felt fast beating heart without any symptoms and the condition resolved on its own after a while is a normal reaction. Drinking a water or swallowing a food may stimulate the vagus nerve which controls heart rate. The nerves stimulation may change heartbeat temporarily. It is a normal reaction of the heart.
