Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that it is necessary to perform a differential diagnosis of your chest pain, as serious disorders should be ruled in/out first (acute coronary syndrome, acute aortic syndrome, etc).

A comprehensive physical exam coupled with a resting ECG, chest X ray study and some blood tests (including cardiac enzymes: troponin, CK-MB) should be performed.

If sufficient suspicions are raised then a cardiac ultrasound and a cardiac stress tests would be helpful to investigate an ischemic cardiac disorder.

When a potential ischemic cardiac disorder is excluded by the above mentioned tests, then other possible etiological causes should be sought (a backbone degenerative disorder, pleural or pericardial inflammation, costochondritis, cholecystitis, esophageal spasm, acid reflux, etc).

You need to discuss with your attending doctor (GP or internist) for the above mentioned issues.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of further uncertainties do not hesitate to contact me!

Greetings!
