What Causes Radiating Pain From Top Of Head?

For the past four days I am having moderate pain on the entire right side of my skull. My head is sensitive to the touch, almost like it has been bruised but it was not. The sensitivity starts above the right eye and continues up and around to the top of my skull in the middle and down to but above my right ear. At times there is shooting pain in different locations in this right quadrant of my head. I will be seeing my family Doctor soon but I wanted to get some I ideas on what could be causing this problem.

May be you are suffering from migraine. I want to know whether you are having family h/o of headache or not. Is your headache associated with nausea, vommiting., whether you are having precipitating factor for headache or not, did you feel aura before headache start, whether any vision problem is associated with headache. If yes then strong chances are that you are suffering from migraine. T/t depend on duration, intensity and frequency of headache.
