What Causes Radiating Pain From Groin To Leg?

Right groin pain. Had a small direct inguinal hernia repair. However the doctor was suspect that this was causing all of my pain and symptoms. He may have been right. I am now 4 weeks post-op and have the same right groin pain that radiates at times down my leg. Made worse with a sudden twisting turn or stepping out in a certain direction. It then feels like being hit by lightening. With sudden onset of pain that can bend me right over. I am unable to walk in the correct manner, I walk favoring the right side since I can t seem to walk in the normal fashion.
