What Causes Racing Heart Beat, Dizziness, High BP And Feeling Of Fainting?

I'm a 26 y/o female. Every now and again I get a racing heartbeat, dizziness, disorientation, and the feeling I'm going to pass out. I had a blood pressure machine and took my blood pressure, and it was 152/101 with a pulse of 199. I've never had a high bp reading. I'm scared because every time it happens, it lasts longer. Any idea as to what it may be?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi I read your query and it looks like some kind of cardiac tachy-arhythmia.

If I was your treating doctor I would probably give you a beta blockers to relief your symptoms.

I would probably suggest to run the following examinations to determine the exact nature of the problem:
- ECG
- Cardiac ECHO
- 24h heart monitoring

Based on the test results a diagnosis will be made and a proper treatment should be available.

Hope it answered your query.
Dr. Benard Shehu.
