What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Cramps In A Woman With PCOS?

Hi there, I am a 21 year old sexually active girl with a related medical history of PCOS that is on her third fourth cycle of YazFlex pills, before that I was on levelen ED. I have had constant baginal bleeding and period cramps for 3 weeks now even though I am still taking the YazFlex pills and it starting to effect my energy levels. Should I go back on to the levelen ED pills until I can see my gynaecologist (29th March is the earliest appointment possible I could get) or should I continue on the YazFlex and hope the bleeding stops? Irregular uterine bleeding is one of the side effects of yazflex. But these pills cant be changed as and when we want.so in my view you better continue the same medication temporarily and after consulting gyn dr the dr can confirm the requirement of changing the medicine by physically examining you and some investigations to rule out harmonal imbalances like thyroid or FSH,LH etc ,local pathologies which cause prolonged bleeding.
Till that time you focus on your nutrition like balanced diet,fresh fruits and veg,avoid oily,spicy,junk food and can take syr DEXORANGE 1 table spoon twice daily to help recover blood loss.
Generally in PCOS maintaining weight through diet and regular exercise is helpful in getting regular periods and relieving these kind of symptoms.
