What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding Along With Abdominal Bloating While On Loestrin?

I recently re-started birth control after 2 years. I started taking LoLoestrin Fe and missed a pill by 12 hours and began bleeding. I had awful bloating, nausea, moodiness and I continued to bleed through the end of the pack. This month I switched to Ocella. I am still bleeding and this is my fourth week. I m experiencing a lot of bloating and the bleeding won t stop. What should I do at this point? When should I expect the bleeding to stop?

Hi,

Since the bleeding is persistent for some time now, it is probably due to a condition other than due to either of the medication you've been taking.

It would be advisable to get a gynecology consult with an ultrasound.
