General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello!
I can imagine how uncomfortable it can be. Let me assure you that hot flushes are one of the commonly noticed signs of menopause and indicates the drop in levels of estrogen. During menopause, the other signs that may be associated are dry skin, vaginal dryness or discomfort, mood swings, sleeping difficulty, fatigue or weakness, joint aches, lethargy, etc. Sweating may or may not be seen. Staying in a cool place, drinking plenty of water at least 2 to 3 lits, turning on the A/C during nights, using a thin blanket, wearing loose cotton clothes, avoiding all fatty and oily foods could be helpful. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoking if any. Get regular exercise like walkong for about 30 mins preferably in the morning as early morning sunrays are a good source of vitamin D. Hope this helps. Please get back anytime in case of further questions.
