What Causes Pricking Pain In Lower Arm, Lower Back And Chest Heaviness?

I had a pricking pain inside in the left lower arm portion and some occasional pain in the lower back side and some point and some sort of heaviness in my chest. I have some border high sugar but my cholestrol is OK. I took ECG and consulted a doctor and he told that there is not much change in ECG. This pain may be due to sugar increase. He advised me sugar control tablet and Sorbitrate and Ecosprin for two weeks. Of course the pain has gone, but occasionally returns. Why is this and what am I to do next. Please advise doctor

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Since you are diabetic, you are at increased risk of heart diseases. So despite of unchanged ECG, it is advisable to rule out heart diseases for your pain. So consult cardiologist and get done blood pressure monitoring, stress test (trade mill test) and 2D echo. You may need coronary angiography if any of the above test abnormal.
