Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

15 percent of women have some bleeding during the first trimester of pregnancy. Lots of new blood vessels are growing in your uterus and cervix, and as the placenta develops it too can bleed sometimes. As long as you don't have any pain along with the bleeding (occasional cramping is normal, but it should not be as bad as a period) there is really nothing to worry about.

I hope I was able to answer your question today and that this information was reassuring.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
