What Causes Persistent Penile Pain?

I am a 41 year old male, 200 lbs. Originally seen 2.5 months ago by family doctor for pain between urnination events (relieved by urination). Tested neg for STD's and bacterial infections. Given original dose of levaquin - 7 days. 1 month later consulted urologist as symptoms persisted. She considered stricture. Conducted cystocopy (sp?) (worst experience of my life). Found nothing. Started on uroxatrol. A week later, re-consulted for second opinion. He prescribed a month long of cipro. Started to show improvement, then plateaued. Then, 2 days ago, after a game of golf, spiraled into an eveninf of unbearable penile pain, near the tip. Disapeared after about 3 hours. Next evening same. Heat seems to help. Will re-consult urolologist, but right now, I am scratching my head, wife is frustrated and it seems there is no clear-cut diagnosis. Thoughts?
