Suggest Remedy For Redness And Swelling In Tonsil With Cold And Cough
I spent the month of February traveling abroad in Europe. I was sick almost the entire time with a cold, cough, and sore throat symptoms. I managed over there but now that I am back in the US I have experienced a serious post nasal drip and now my urethra is stuck to the right side of my tonsil and I can see redness and swelling. I can t seem to get this illness to go away. I am normally very healthy and rarely sick. I can t stand to be this sick. I have tried several OTC medications along with Levaquin and Promethezyine/Codeine. Please tell me what I can do to get better, soon.

Hello,
It seems that you have chronic tonsillitis with tonsils so much enlarged that it is almost touching your uvula or your uvula is being pushed towards the opposite tonsil. If you see any whitish discharge or pus over the tonsil, then it would be an acute tonsillitis but your complaint is more consistent with the chronic tonsillitis with post nasal drip. First of all, please perform warm saline gargles twice a day to relive congestion and pain in the throat.
Take Tab Claritin once a day, use Flonase nasal spray 2 puffs once a day and steam inhalation with Vicks for 10 days. This will help to reduce the secretion's and to expel it out of your system. If your symptoms persist, make an appointment with your local ENT doctor for further investigation / treatment. It takes little time especially with the changing weather to get rid of post nasal drip and with the treatment I advised, you should get better soon.
