What Causes Persistent Numbness And Swelling On Knee After Injury?

I fell on my knee about 5 weeks ago and landed on the inside edge of the front of the knee, just to the side of the patella. I had a nice bruise and swelling for a week or two, and numbness right at the site of impact immediately after the fall. I still have the numbness, and while the pain has decreased, it is still slightly swollen and tender to any touch in the area adjacent to the numbness. My only concern is that there has been no change in the last couple weeks.

Welcome at HCM
i have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns...
Based upon the history you have provided it is rather difficult to pinpoint the pathology....
You should meet an orthopedic surgeon .in my opinion you should get an MRI of the knee joint so that soft tissue injury can be appreciated...
Meanwhile take rest and do regular icing and take acetaminophen to relieve pain...
Hope your query is adequately answered.
