What Causes Pelvic Pain And Burning Urination After Having Intercourse?

Three days ago I had intercourse with my fiancé. We used protection but stopped after a while. I m not on the pill or on any meds. Two days after intercourse, I went to use the restroom. I was urinating fine; until after 10-15mins later I had the feeling of constantly needing to use the restroom. I would urinate but very little. After 4-5 times of doing that, I used the restroom again and it was burning. There was no odor or anything. The symptoms I had were only pelvic pain, burns when urinating (very little), and very little droplet of blood. What can this possibly be? Is it an infection?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. You seem to be experiencing urethritis. This is due to the trauma from the intercourse, especially if it is the first time. The so called 'honeymoon cystitis' is not actually an infection. I would suggest a proper clinical evaluation and urinalysis to plan further management. Flavoxate helps to relieve the repeated urge or strangury. Since you have also spotted blood, you may need an antibiotic. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
