What Causes Partial Hearing Loss After Using Q Tip?
hello everybody, today i used a q tip to clean my ear just like usual after showering... i must have put it too deeply in though as i stopped hearing from tht ear and it really hurts if i try touching it. no blood though. i tried blowing through my nose just like you do in the airplane sometimes and that has partially brought back the hearing but not fully. what can i do ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that due to deeper placement of the q-tip accidentally there have been perforation of the ear drum leading to reduced hearing, pain in ear and clogged feeling can be due to blood accumulation in ear secondary to bleeding.. You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and an Otoscopic examination can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. For minor perforations it can be healed by antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers, decongestants. Larger perforations needs to be repaired surgically..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
