Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Paralysis In Feet And Back Pain While Treating Herpes?
My wife has developed paralysis in feet and extreme weakness in her legs and extreme exhaustion in the last 2 months, no injuries or major illness before symptoms. She has back pain but just had an mri reviewed by a spine clinic that saw no narrowing of the spinal fluid so no bulging disc s. She does have the herpes virus which we believe caused her to have heart palpitations in the fall, medication has resolved this. Could these be connected? He has referred us to a neurologist with thoughts we could be dealing with a infection of MS in the upper spine. Dr said she has extreme reflexes and when he pushed on the balls of her feet they bounced (forget what he called this). Visiting neurologist next week but are looking for some information. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
