Hi, My heart quivered a lot in the space of less than a minute, a companied by pain in the back of my chest. I have had this quivering before, but not accompanied by pain and then tightness un my chest like an asthma attack. This was 10 minutes ago, and I am still feeling puffy as if I need an inhaler.
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Sudden onset rapid heart rate, pain in back of chest, tightness etc should not be ignored. This could be occurring due to some cardiac problem. An ECG can help to rule out this so visit a physician for ECG. If ECG comes normal then other possibility is anxiety. Anxiety may cause sudden onset palpitations, chest pain apart from other classical symptoms of anxiety. Medicines like SSRIs or SNRIs are commonly used in anxiety symptoms. Some medicines like Propranolol can be used to slow down the rapid heart rate. The medicine helps to reduce the symptoms of anxiety. Even benzodiazepines also help to reduce the symptoms of anxiety. Please consult a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.
Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care.
