Palpitation like thing in upper abdomen and chest radiating to the back can be due to one of the following reasons: Gastric ulcer on the posterior wall of stomach. Aortic aneurysm can cause similar problems. Chronic pancreatitis and any other problem in the posterior part of the abdomen can cause similar problems. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult a General surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and thus for related investigations like Upper GI Endoscopy. Contrast enhanced CT scan of the abdomen. An appropriate diagnosis will lead to the plan of management.
