Hi,

After a while I started coughing up dark red, stringy phlegmI have a lot of pain in my throat still and it is really uncomfortable.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

The red color maybe due to some blood!
Please dont worry as this can happen during an episode of throat infection. I would like you to meet your ent doctor as soon as possible to have a check on your throat and prescribe you the necessary antibiotics.Meanwhile you should avoid hot and spicy food and drink plenty of fluids.
Thanks
