What Causes Painful Periods Twice In A Month?

Hi i have the non hormonal could had for nearly 3 years but for the last 7months my period has been every 2 weeks and so painful i am in tears been to gp she just says its nothing to worry about and wont take it out even tho i have begged her please help

Hi, Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar here. I welcome you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC. I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) I suppose you have non hormonal IUD. I will suggest you to get USG done. And a gynec check up including per speculum and per vaginal examination.

3 ) As for your bleeding that is occurring every 2 weekly, causes like uterine fibroid, PID - pelvic inflammatory disease need to be ruled out.

4 ) Till then I will suggest you the following -

A. Tab Pause MF 3 times a day for the period of bleeding to control pain and bleeding.

B. A broad spectrum antibiotic like Cap Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 5 days.

C. You can take Tab Ovral G one at night for 20 days from day 5 of the cycle. You will get your next period after 3 to 10 days of finishing the tablets.
