What Causes Painful Intercourse?

My girlfriend experiences pain all the time during intercourse, the only way we are able to be intimate is through faster, and rougher intercourse, because she says the faster it is the easier it is for her to get past the pain also I don t know how to say this in a less straight forward way, so I ll just say it straight out. the more we have intercourse consecutively the tighter she becomes, after about 3 or 4 times it gets to the point in which intercourse is impossible. she is too shy about this to ask for any help, so here I am....
