What Causes Pain On The Right Cheek And Jaw With Sore Throat And Runny Nose During Pregnancy?
hi i wonder if you can help me? for the last 5 days now iv had what i thought was your common cold a runny nose a bit of a sore throat. im not sleeping very well too but i put that down to been 38 weeks pregnant.. i have noticed this last couple of days that across my right cheek bone and today behind my right eye hurts, it also is really painful in my right side of my jaw when i open my mouth and hurts in my upper gum when i bite down. what can i do or take to relive this as im 38 weeks pregnant? and does it sound like a maxillary sinus infection to you? please help me thankyou
This very well may be a sinus infection or even a problem with one of your teeth. The correct treatment would be antibiotics if you have a sinus infection or a dental problem, and many antibiotics (especially those that are penicillin-based), can be used safely in pregnancy. I suggest you try to see a doctor to look in your ear and mouth and assess your condition, if your OB is not comfortable doing this, you should see a primary care physician and/or a dentist, and if they recommend antibiotics, your OB can tell you which are safe to use during pregnancy. Unfortunately being pregnant doesn't keep you from getting sick just like anyone else. You should get treatment because you will really feel lousy if you are sick during labor! Good luck and feel better!
