What Causes Pain Near My Xiphoid Process On Swallowing?

hi! I ve been experiencing pain near my xiphoid process upon eating. when swallowing foods, when it comes down near XP, i feel like choking/pain but pain is tolerable. It started 2 days ago. The first night I could feel pain at the left side of my back. It just comes and goes. On the next day, there is no left back pain anymore but only pain upon swallowing near xiphoid process.

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
This could be due to esophagitis secondary to gastric reflux.

I recommend the following.
1) Avoid coffee and tea.
2) Avoid smoking.
3) Avoid spicy and junk food.
4) Keep regular diet habits and avoid skipping meals.
5) Take your dinner at least 3 hours before bedtime.
6) Proton pump inhibitors like tablet rabeprazole.
You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
