ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
If you have ear problems due to some abnormalities in the external or middle ear, it can be easily diagnosed by an ENT Specialist. A clear canal and a healthy drum points towards a different cause.Your explanation is typical of a neuralgic type of pain.
A neuralgia is caused by microvascular compromise of nerve trunks, which can not be diagnosed with an MRI.
I think you should also consult a dentist, since most of the similar pains are of dental origin like decay, malocclusion etc.
