What Causes Pain In Forearm?

My 12 1/2 year old son keeps complaining of a throbbing type pain in his right forearm. He doesn't recall injuring it although he is very active in basketball right now and has been doing a clinic at our local baseball academy for muscle building activities.......He's able to use it normally.
