What Causes Pain In Eye 5 Days After Getting Hit?

My son has hit his head against another player on Saturday while playing football. After my son complained about eye socket pain we saw the doctor and requested an X-ray of the eye area. Everything looks clear but we did notice that the posterior table didn t look well defined on the X-ray. Our doctor confirmed with the radiologist that there is no fracture. My son it is near 5 days after the incident and my son is still complaining of eye pain. He tells me that it is a lot worse in the morning. I am wondering if this is due to the sinus.
