What Causes Pain In Bleeding Ear And Ringing Sounds After Cleaning The Ear?

Six months ago, I was cleaning my left ear out with a qtip and accidently hit the qtip in my ear. I felt a sharp pain and there was a little blood on the qtip. There was loud ringing in my left ear following the incident and then it got better but there continues to be ringing in my ear. I don't have health insurance and was wondering if there is anything I can do to stop or alleviate the ringing until I can see a doctor?
