What Causes Pain Below The Ribcage During Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant and feel weird dull pain just below my ribcage where the joining finishes. This is more pronounced when I m sitting or bending or when I press on the spot. I am currently overcoming a cold with quite bad coughs and have spent a lot of time in bed the last 5 days. Do I need to worry about the pain? Thank you

Hello,
Welcome to HCM
Your symptoms are suggestive of pleuritis. As you have lower respiratory tract infection,it has spread to pleura and has caused inflammation of the pleura resulting in pleuritis.

So,i would suggest you to consult a physician and take a full course of antibiotics that is safe to take in pregnancy like cap.amoxicillin.
Also take analgesics like ibuprofen for pain.

Hope this answer your query.
Thank you.
