Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Greetings: My name is Suzanne and I am a 49 year old female. I sustained a compressed fracture at the L2 spine approximately over a year ago. I did not seek immediate treatment, however, when I began to fee worse I went tot he E.R. An Xray confirmed a compressed fracture and I was given a back brace to wear. They told me it would take up to a year to heal. I am concerned now because when I sit on the sofa for more that 15 minutes my legs and feet begin to fall asleep I have gotten up from the sofa and my legs will give out on me and I fall to the floor. I am in so much pain that I sweat and my blood pressure soars. Every time I have gone into the doctors office my blood pressure has been high. I keep telling them I am in pain. Yesterday I went to see my Endocronlogist for my tyroid and my blood pressure wasw 158/117. I told him I was in pain due to the compressed fracture. He prescribed me 50mg of high blood pressure. Right now as I sit here and type to you there is sharp shooting pain down my spine, my feet are falling asleep and if I get up my feet feel like cement blocks. I don t sleep well at night because any movement causes me pain and I wake up. I am taking an over the counter pain medication. What is your expert advise?
