Hello,

I can understand your concern. As you have been throgh surgeries for removal of buccal mucosa cancer and then reconstruction surgery, along with radiotherapy, the numbness felt in the shoulder is a very common finding as nerve and blood vessels must be severed during surgery supplying the regions adjacent to the concerned area.

Sometimes these nerves regenerate over time and the sensations return while other times, that is not the case. Physiotheray and nutritional supplements can help in such conditions. In addition, you can consult a neuologist for physical examination and further investigations of the area.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
