What Causes Pain And Numbness From Right Armpit To The Fingers?

I ve got a dull ache and numbness under my right arm pit which goes right down to my fingers and my arm pit feels swollen. I ve had this for over a week now and it keeps me awake at night, what can it be and do I need to see a doctor? Forgot to say I m a 50 year old women.
