Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 22 years old, I am 5 6 and I weigh 150 lbs. The past two days, my urine has smelled like metal and it has been uncomfortable to sit, it just feels like something is wrong on the inside. I have pain and occasional bleeding during intercourse. A week before I get my period I always get some type of infection and pain and as sson as my period is over it is better. I just want to feel better. Can you help?
Hi, thanks for the query. One of the commonest cause of pain & bleeding during intercourse is hurried, forcible attempts of intercourse before reaching the stage of proper sexual excitation (where a females vagina becomes lubricated, slightly moist & elongates to accommodate the penis; there are associated changes like increased heart rate, hot flush, impending excitement, increased redness of around genitals due to increased blood flow & raised body temperature). Second important cause is presence of a sexually transmitted infection (STI) in either of the partner. Hence, get yourself checked for STI & also encourage your sexual partner for same. Avoid sexual promiscuity. Engage in protracted foreplay before sexual intercourse to reach adequate sexual excitation. You can also refer to Masters & Johnson's non genital sensate focus techniques & stages of sexual responses for additional information. Good luck
