What Causes Numbness On The Tongue And Swollen Tonsils?

I have had a numb tongue/lips and the feeling of a lump in my throat for about a year now. I saw an ent about 3 months ago. He told me that my lingual tonsil is swollen. That it is most likely just allergies and indigestion. But I m still worried that it might be cancer. Being that these symptoms never go away no matter what I do. Need some advice

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As far as swollen tonsil is concerned, don't worry if it is enlarge without involving the surrounding area and with no weight loss. Also, no surrounding lymph node is concerned.

Lingual tonsil is very rare cancerous. So, observe it if it is progressively increasing then you have to consult the doctor otherwise, just take an anti-allergic and antibiotic like Amoxcil.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ruby
