What Causes Numbness On The Head After Falling Down?

My son is on a trip out of state. Was horseback riding, the horse started going back and back and went down a slope. He reared back and him my son in the face. This happened yesterday. 17 years aprox 145 lbs 5'10". Today his head is still feeling numb and he has taken pain relief so he may not know how bad it hurts. Should he get this checked out as soon as he is near a hospital tomorrow?

Hi.This is Dr Muneeb Ali. I am here to help you regarding this problem. i am very sorty to hear about the accident faced by your son. If your son is having severe headache, nausea, vomiting, seizures fits or blurring of vision then it is the time that you should rush to the emergency department for the neurosurgeons opinion. Otherwise its not an indication to go there. you should give him some painkillers like ibuprofen for pain relief and for inflamation.
