What Causes Numbness In The Rectum?

I had spinal stenosis surgery 6-6-17 Decompression of L2/3 3/4 4/5. I have a numbness in my rectal area, from the middle upward for 5-6 inches. Its extremely uncomfortable and I m worried about something being severed that wasn t meant to be. If it s just swelling , and will go away, I can wait. I contact Drs. office, no response.???? Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern

1. As you have undergone laminectomy for lumbar spinal stenosis it could be post laminectomy numbness of genitals and rectal area [due to nerve damage resulting from lumbar laminectomy] but for specific diagnosis and management, you have to consult your attending physician or an Orthopedist. [who might order for an MRI to exclude cauda equina syndrome]

2. till then do ask for prescription medicine GABANYL NT [which contains gabapentin and nortriptyline] for neuromodulation
