Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi my aunt has numbness in hands and foot, and has lost sight or cant see out of one and is becoming more sleepy every day and cant get up much like her muscles are week and or fragile, she went to the doctor for blood work but says she is fine but clearly is not and its getting worse by each day, she is not diabetic at all and was just recently tested like two days ago and came out negative on diabetes type one and two.
For this reason, I recommend consulting with her attending physician and performing some tests to investigate the possible causes underlying her complaints:
- nerve conduction studies for peripheral neuropathy
- vitamin D and vitamin B12 plasma levels for possible deficiency
- blood electrolytes
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation
- CPK and LDH plasma levels (muscle enzymes)
- a cardiac ultrasound.
You should discuss with her doctor on the above tests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist

What Causes Numbness In The Hands And Feet?
Hi, I understand your concern and would explain that your aunt s symptoms could be related to a metabolic disorder. Peripheral neuropathy cannot be excluded either. For this reason, I recommend consulting with her attending physician and performing some tests to investigate the possible causes underlying her complaints: - nerve conduction studies for peripheral neuropathy - vitamin D and vitamin B12 plasma levels for possible deficiency - blood electrolytes - complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation - CPK and LDH plasma levels (muscle enzymes) - a cardiac ultrasound. You should discuss with her doctor on the above tests. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
