What Causes Numbness In The Fingers While Suffering From Clogged Arteries?

I am 73 years old. About a year ago I had a stroke and while being checked out I was told I had some cogging in my arteries. Now I have numbness in my fingers and one has developed a white spot on the tip. On the opposite side of the fingernail. Now a week later it has turned blood red. Will this go away? What caused it?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In old age (after 60 years of age), due to atherosclerosis, arteries are clogged with plaques.
And fingers are more prone because size of finger arteries are very very small.
So in my opinion, you should evaluate that spot for arterial occlusion and gangrene.
You may need blood thinners and lipid lowering drugs (atorvastatin or rosuvastatin).
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
