What Causes Numbness In The Arms And Shoulder?

My sister had not been sick when she was driving, and her left arm, from the shoulder to tips of fingers went numb. Fingers do not work, and she has pain in the arm all of the time. She has had mri s, cat scan, chiropractor, neurologist, with no answers.

I think there are two condition which can cause such problems.
1.Thorasic outlet compression syndrome- when there is compression of the nerve due to any structure in neck like a a extra rib it can cause such symptoms.
2. It can be due to cervical spondylitis also.So my suggestion to you is show her to a orthopaedic surgeon and then take decision accordingly. I think MRI must be showing some thing which was missed by your doctor.
If all reports are normal till now then you need to get EMG/NCV of the limb to see what is the cause of this problem.
She should wear soft collar in neck when she is driving, that will prevent any pressure on her nerves. Also tablet Pregabalin and Methylcobal will help her.
