Hey. I was outside in the cold and my lips started to get really numb. I dont know what it is but after coming inside and even sleeping for 8 hours, I awoke to my lips that were still numb. Theres no discoloration or swelling, its just been numb for the longest time. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum .
As you describe, it appears to be due to the neuritis of the branch of trigeminal nerve supplying the lips.
The other reasons may be the swelling of the lips, due to the infection of the gums, or oral cavity, or some allergy to the drugs like ibuprofen.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment .
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms injection of neurotropic injectins, for 10 consecutive days, ofloxacin, diclofenac etc till the diagnosis is established.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
