All the fingers of both hands are always numb. This started with problems with the ulnar nerves, a few years ago, then spread to the remaining six fingers. When sleeping, I m awaken by moderate pain in the arms, whereby getting out of bed and rubbing my arms stops the pain and numbness and allows for continued sleep for several hours. Lately both feet have become swollen and, on the inside of both feet, the skin has turned dark red and appears to be spreading. There is minor continuous numbness in the toes but no pain. I m 85 years old, smoke cigaretts and drink 2 liters of beer 24/7, 365 days. Is there a way to reduce the numbness in the fingers and toes without changing my life style ? Thank you . . .
