What Causes Night Sweats And Fluctuation In Body Temperature While On Effexor?
I am a 49yr old female with terrible night sweats to the extent of waking because of water running down my back sometimes but most often from water running from behind my knees - usually my right knee. My temperature fluctuates hot & cold all night. I am not taking any HRT but am on anti anxiety medication effexor 350mg daily. It is the water running from the back of my knees that bothers me the most.

thank you for asking your concern madam and welcome to HCM. diaphoresis or sweating is one o the side effect of effexor. but rise in temperature is not its side effect. if possible please check the temperature when you feel cold and keep record of it with you. if you do not have any loss of weight or loss of appetite or cough then there is little chance of any infection there. if you are in perimenapausal period then it is most likely as perimenapausal symptom. i would suggest to meet any gynecologist and start HRT if possible. because you need to have a proper evaluation before starting it. it will be good to start it to get relief from your symptoms. if your anxiety is also not so old symptom then it may be related to this then taking HRT will relief from anxiety also.
