What Causes Negative Medicinal Traces In Blood Test Despite Being On Medication?

I have been on a lot of medicine .for 21 years I had a blood test done in December I just went back to my Dr on 3/18/14 I was told my medicine came up negative how can this be? I had a another one done and im waiting to here if it ok or not. I just can believe this happen to me im 61 years old I have high blood pressure and I take 5 different pills for that. I all so take diazepam ,hydroco/acetamim. amitriptylineand, gabapentin and clonidine if it comes back negative they told I will not get any of my medicine. what do they want me to do DIE ? Thanks for writing in.

Medicines are metabolized by enzymes in the human system. It is probable that the metabolism of the medication is quick in your case and therefore the traces of medication are eliminated from your system faster than usual.

Therefore the test is done to detect drug dose at particular levels and if the amount of medication in your blood is lower than the threshold then it will not be detected. Probably this is what is happening with you and the test result is negative.

It is suggested to get tested in another recommended standard laboratory and then discuss results. Please do not worry.
