What Causes Neck Pain During Spinal Stenosis?

I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and lately can hardly walk. I have pain from my hip that radiates down my leg, and now I have pretty bad neck pain. I just quit smoking, however a bit scared about where the neck pain may be coming from. is it possible that this could be part of my back problem
