What Causes Multi-nodular Goitre?

Hi,

My wife has recently been operated for multi-nodular goiter in the left thyroid wherein the left thyroid has been removed. Also, the post surgery biopsy report states that "there is no evidence of malignancy". However, while discussing yesterday, we were wondering if this problem was the result our indulgence in oral sex over the last 4 yrs. Is it possible that performing oral sex can result in such thyroid issues?
