What Causes Mole/scab On Upper Lip?

Hi, I had a brooding pimple on my upper lip 3 weeks back and it suddenly developed into what looks like a mole/scab. The patch on my lip is still peeling but I haven t been able to scratch the mole/scab off. I m worried it might be a cancerous mole, should I be concerned? 28 year old female.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be pyogenic granuloma most probably. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. Your dermatologist after examination and investigations may confirm the diagnosis of pyogenic granuloma and then may remove the lesion by electrocautery under local anaesthesia.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
