Hallow Dear,
Let me solve your queries one by one.
After confirmation of
pregnancy, if some vaginal spotting or bleeding has taken place, it is denoting that the pregnancy is unstable. In fact performing
ultrasonography at this stage would inform you following information:
1. Whether the baby is still viable and
2. What is the cause of this spotting.
If the baby is viable, then in order to stabilize the pregnancy, we give either
Progesterone or Inj.
hCG.
During pregnancy Progesterone is produced by chorionic tissue initially and then by placenta. Progesterone hormone is required to stabilize the pregnancy. Inj. hCG will strengthen chorionic tissue and thus will help stabilizing the pregnancy.
So, your doctor has prescribed you Inj. hCG not for your general health but it is for the supplementation to the chorionic tissue.
I hope this clarifies the confusion and doubts in your mind.
