Hello,

You are suffering from thrush. You have also developed a few pearly lumps on your inner labia. It's been a week, and the symptoms are the same. Thrush commonly occurs to people with weakened immune system. Avoid coming in contact with anyone's saliva and wash hands properly before eating. It is not contagious but can spread if you are careless.

Avoid sharing toiletries like soap, toothbrushes, tongue cleaners, towel, etc. Take food that boosts your immune system. Risk factors of thrush are anemia, diabetes, smoking, etc. Stay away from addictions if any. Thrush commonly goes away in 10-14 days; it is treated with a course of anti-fungal medicines that are taken orally. Applying antifungal topically also works and is available in the market as gels, liquids and lozenges.

You are advised to gargle your mouth with warm salt water three times a day. You have developed pearly lumps in the inner vulva, take care of your hygiene and get tested to rule out STD. If positive report is obtained you will be treated with antibiotics and antivirals. In the meantime, you can apply cool compress. Apply ointment Soframycin for relieve, do not touch, scratch or pick. If sexually active avoid any sexual activity.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
