What Causes Lump On Shin After Knocking?

I injured my shin by knocking against a hard object a few weeks ago. At first there was bruising, pain and a lump. Now the bruising has gone and there is no pain, however a hard lump still remains on my shin. I was told that this might be something called a callis or something similar where there is calcium build up around the injury on the bone. But could you please advise?

That would be right. Whenever there is injury near a bone there forms a blodd clot or hematoma which is the lump you noticed and the injured bone reacts and forms a callus which later with the help of the hematoma gets calcified to become a callus. Dont worry it will resolve over time and will not cause you any problem. Take care.
