What Causes Lump Deep In The Tissue Of Buttocks?

I just felt a grape sized lump deep in the tissue of my buttocks near the crease that joins the hamstring. There is only mild pain and cannot be seen from the outside. The lump feels like it is suspended in "jelly". I have recently lost alot of weight and I also just got a tetanus shot. I don't know if there may be any correlation.

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

If the vaccination was done in the area where the lump is present, blood accumulation due to veins rupture is most probable (hematoma).
Other possibilities are sebaceous cyst or lipoma.
All issues are benign and do not cause any serious problems. However blood accumulation should be drained otherwise it can turn into abscess.
Please consult a doctor with this issue. Ultrasound should be done to help with diagnose.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
