What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain Despite Taking Flupen?
Hi Dr Andrew Rynne. I have a pain at my lower abdorman at the right side and when I am having sex so I went to the Doctor and he said I was ovulating so he gave me Flupen 250 but the pain is not going away. Pls help me. I am 35 years and my weight is 86.8KG
I understand your concern. Causes for lower abdominal pain may be many , of which a few may be Urinary tract infection(UTI) if associated with increased urination or pain while urinating, Pre menstrual symptom pain due to ovulation, gastroenteritis, appendicitis, irritable bowel syndrome or sometimes even the stomach flu.
Watch out for nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or urinary symptoms.
If the pain is not subsiding or worsening, it is advisable to visit the er for an usg, blood tests, stool or urine test to rule out differentials. Treatment is based on the cause.
Meanwhile application of a warm pack over the area will help as it relaxes the abdominal muscles and increases blood circulation.
Hope this helps, Take care Regards, Dr Vignan Rachabattuni
